PRESENT & ABLEQuestions & Answers
Important questions, answered clearly.
From fees and preparation to the journey itself, professional boundaries and the standards behind our service.

Booking & Preparation
Who is the service for?
We support overseas families, older travellers, students and young adults, international clients and professional partners who need a trusted person to accompany someone or attend in their place. Every assignment is assessed individually.
How far in advance should I contact you?
As early as possible, particularly for international travel, complex transfers or additional support needs. We will also assess urgent requests when availability and the circumstances allow.
What information do you need before confirming an assignment?
We normally need the dates, locations, itinerary, the person requiring support, mobility, health or communication needs, authorised contacts and the intended handover. We may ask for further information where it affects feasibility or safety.
During the Journey
Can the companion collect someone from home and stay through to the final destination?
Yes, where agreed. The starting point and end of responsibility are set out in the service plan, including who will receive the traveller at the destination.
What happens if a flight is delayed or cancelled?
We remain calm, establish the available options, keep the authorised contact informed and act within the agreed authority. Airlines and other third parties control their own decisions, so additional time, travel or accommodation may create further costs.
How will the family receive updates?
Before the assignment we agree who should be updated, by which channel and at which milestones. We then provide a clear handover or completion record at the end.
Needs & Boundaries
Can you support mobility, memory or communication needs?
Potentially, provided the needs are disclosed in advance and fall within the assigned person’s competence, the agreed scope and our insurance. We may coordinate airport or airline assistance where appropriate.
Do you provide medical or nursing care?
No. We are not a medical transport or nursing service. We can provide agreed practical support and communication, but clinical care, medical decisions and medication management must remain with the traveller, family or appropriately qualified professionals.
Can you accompany a child or young person?
Some assignments may be considered following an individual safeguarding and consent assessment. Age, airline rules, parental authority, route and handover arrangements must all be confirmed before we can accept the assignment.
Fees & Changes
How are your fees calculated?
International travel companion assignments start with an assignment and preparation fee from £300, plus £40 per hour of accompanied service. The final quotation reflects the itinerary, support needs, handover arrangements and complexity.
Which expenses are charged separately?
The companion’s flights, local transport, accommodation, meals and other necessary assignment expenses are separate from the professional fee. They are explained in the written quotation or agreed where an unexpected change occurs.
Trust & Documents
Can I see evidence of insurance and service standards?
Relevant current documents will be available in the Documents section of Why Trust Us, or supplied directly where appropriate. Some records may be redacted to protect personal or commercially sensitive information.
